It’s Nearly FDSW (Fire Door Safety Week) – UAP Show our Support

Every year, we show support for Fire Door Safety Week (FDSW), which raises awareness for proper fire door maintenance and prevention of fires. Fire Door Safety Week runs from the 20th to the 26th of September 2021.

FDSW aims to highlight key industry issues and provide a wealth of fire door information and guidance for free in the hopes of saving lives from preventable fires. They offer a Fire Door Safety Week Toolkit, offering tips, information and resources on how to improve fire safety in residential and commercial builds.

“It’s crucial to understand the factors that ensure a fire door performs as intended – product manufacture, quality, installation and maintenance all play a part. Their correct specification, maintenance and management can be the difference between life and death for building occupants, as can their use. Everyone plays their part in ensuring a fire door performs as it should, from the manufacturer through to the building users, and this is why the annual Fire Door Safety Week campaign exists.” -FDSW

The organisation is managed by the British Woodworking Federation Group and supported by a number of partners, including the Home Office’s National Fire Safety campaign, the National Fire Chief’s Council, and London Fire Brigade.
