We Raised £265.50 with our Macmillan Coffee Morning!

On October 5th, UAP held our second Macmillan Coffee Morning, in which staff kindly contributed their great bakes to raise money for charity. We raised a whopping £265.50 just from coffee and cake!

Macmillan cancer charity is one of the largest charities in the UK and provides physical, financial and emotional support to those affected by cancer, making a big difference to their lives and the success of their treatment. They can provide advisers to find solutions for covering the costs associated with care, granting loans to patients who need it. Their philosophy is that cancer patients should not be burdened by the additional costs and worries of their disease in order to make their treatment less of a struggle.

1 in 2 of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetime, with 363,000 recorded new cases every year. Donations to cancer charities such as Macmillan go towards the prevention and treatment of cancer, making it more likely that those affected will survive the disease.

This year, cancer patients are struggling to pay for their care and other needs due to the cost of living crisis. Patients may need to pay for transport to treatment and to power medical devices at home, among other additional costs.
