According to the Telegraph, each day of the Christmas holidays, ‘crooks committed 448 burglaries, 65 robberies and 1082 thefts’.

The total number of thefts over the festive period has been rising across England and Wales in the last few years, having gone up from 5524 in 2015/16 to 6278 in 2016/17.

The number of Christmas robberies has also increased by 20% from 2015/16 to 2016/17. It is becoming more important than ever to protect families’ homes and their expensive Christmas presents and possessions.

Many of these crimes are not solved and the criminals and possessions are not found or recovered. Many members of the public also reported that they have not seen a single member of police patrolling their neighbourhoods in the past year.
