Fire Resistant Door Hardware Features

• Intumescent lining – this innovative material can expand to 50 times its size in order to seal any gaps in the door hardware. It is used around the Letterplates and when heated will expand, meaning less smoke can pass through the door.
• Non-heat absorbing washers – these fixtures act as a heat sink, keeping the metal fittings away from the plastic which will melt if heated. By preventing the plastic from touching the hot metal screws for as long as possible, it will take longer to melt, and the fire less time to spread through the door.

The Salamander Firecheck system can be used with any of our 40-80mm Letterplates and applied to any size and any material you choose. The system covers the whole range of fire doors such as the FD30 and FD60 doors. One product is all you need to cater to all your fire safety needs both at home and in the workplace.
